Cosmetic products notification requirements
According to the Regulations No 354 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia “Essential Requirements for Cosmetic Products, Labelling thereof and Procedures for Supervision of Compliance with these Requirements” (20.04.2004) (further in text - Regulations No. 354), the notification of cosmetic product at the Health Inspectorate (further in text - Inspectorate) is required before placing the product on Latvian market.

In 21 May 2011 amendments [1] to Regulations No 354 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia came into force cancelling the requirement for distributors of the cosmetic products to submit to the Inspectorate information on the composition of the cosmetic products for purposes of medical treatment.
